Blog on zentralplus: Waking up out of my „Swiss bubble“
- By Sarah Bischof
It is a serious adventure trying to settle down in another country on another continent with another religion. In the beginning everything is just perfect, but after some time this “on holidays“- and „everything is just so perfect“-feeling get replaced by the pure reality & a life full of challenges. LIFE as it’s best
On the Swiss internet portal zentralplus I am going to share twice a month my experience and stories of my life between Switzerland and crazy Morocco.

TV-Documentary Heimatland

It was a special feeling when on behalf of SRF (Swiss Radio and Television) Susan Merkofer contacted me in Morocco this spring. She wanted to cast me for the TV documentary „Heimatland“ about the topic of unemployment, a common fear in Switzerland. „Why me?“ I asked. „Because you consciously abandoned your „security“ of a permanent job to follow your life.“ That’s true. I’m not afraid of the future, because I trust the universe. I know that everything happens for a reason. Life consists of challenges. Of shadows and light. What we can learn is how to deal with both and how we can grow and become mature from something worse.
In the broadcast three completely different people are shown: A 55-year-old family father, who has been unsuccessfully looking for a job for two years, a youth who is trying to find an apprenticeship and me who don’t have worries about my future. I am aware that I polarize with my lifestyle and my point of view. It is, however, what nourishes me personally, what anchors me in the universe and what allows me to flow. Only then I am able to serve others too.
If you are interested, have a look at the broadcast. I am sorry, it is in german…

Susan Merkofer did such a great work. With much sensitivity and a sense for storytelling she combined the three stories of the protagonists. Although it is strange to see myself on a screen, I know this is me. Thank you Susan for respecting me. I am happy to have had the chance to represent a little glimpse of the trust in the universe for all of us who are together on this path. Thank you to each of you who inspires me day by day. This for all of us. <3 The change is a lifelong process and I am grateful for it.

„I keep my blue hair in a box.“ – interview on zentralplus
- By Sarah Bischof

“ I have realized that my life was passing too fast.“ I can still remember when two years ago journalist Jana Avanzini from the online platform zentralplus walked for an interview with me through the Sihl (one of the rivers in Zurich). Me, then with blue hair, glitter jacket, globe in the hands, as Pony Hü between Zurich, Berlin and Istanbul, living my colourful, glitter „powergirl dream“. Since then much has happened … the glitter dream became to a dream of 1001 nights. Jana has tracked me in Morocco and made a great follow-up interview. Thank you for this support from my home country Switzerland.

Allow yourself to change.

The moment. Life. Universe. – After 4 years of producing Pony Hü videos about subculture, electronic music scene or festivals in Zurich, Istanbul and Berlin I am ready for something new. I have moved to Morocco where I am living my dream, focussing on my yoga studies, just enjoying the moment and creating a new project Maison Darna. First I wanted to give up producing Pony Hü…but why should I stop my project which I have started to be journalistic self-independant and which has allowed me to be myself when I live in such an amazing surrounding? There are so much things to discover. The culture, habits, values, life in general is so different from busy city life of Zurich. Of course no place in the world is perfect and the islamic culture has his own difficulties.
I would like to share my impressions, moments and experiences in Morocco with you. Maybe with less words as in the last 30 Pony Hü videos but with more sequences of the moment and sounds of the nature. I have become calmer and more grounded. This will also have an effect on my project Pony Hü.
Me, I am Sarah. And Pony Hü? That is the name of my video project. I have identified myself a lot with Pony Hü in the last years, but now I prefer the real, maybe simple, but deliberately by my parents chosen name Sarah. #rebranding #allowyourselftochange #ponyhüisback
And: If you would like to step out of your daily life and enjoy beautiful Morocco you are very welcome at Maison Darna. This is the new project of my boyfriend and me – for your holidays, your yoga retreat or your business get together.
I am very happy to share my dream with you.
<3 Sarah
- Camels, horses, goats, dogs, cats, birds, donkeys, beach, the amazing sky…I have never felt so close to nature and universe as now.
- During the next few months all of the houses in the region of Agadir have to be repainted in blue and white. Crazy.
- My camera has woken up from hibernation. Ready to share amazing impressions from my new life in Morocco.
- Maison Darna: Your location to step out of your daily life. This is the new project of my boyfriend and me on the coast of Morocco. Our house in authentic moroccan style as your place for holidays, yoga retreat or business get together. www.maisondarna.com
- After my Universal Yoga teacher training I have started to teach yoga in Tamraght. Normally I am not shy to step in front of people but it took me some time to be ready to share my knowledge about yoga.
- Besides Maison Darna and my first yoga teachings I am still working as freelancer in media and communications. One of my clients is personal trainer and nutrition coach Dario Pozzi (www.pozzible.ch).
- With our dog I love to play on the beach and enjoy the moment when the sun is disappearing behind the sea.
- Time is running? Only in western countries. In Morocco you live NOW. Everything takes a bit more time…even shopping 😉
- In Morocco gyms are not so common. No need for…our workout we do in the water, on the beach or at the souk.
